September and Sunflowers

Sunflowers are one of my favourite flowers. It's so tall, strong, and lovely. This year, we have decided to plant a small row of them in our garden to create a fence-like effect, allowing our daughter to weed the garden and enjoy a bit more privacy.

This is the first one that bloomed! I’m so proud of how well it is doing. Also very impressed with its strength. Alberta has had crazy windstorms all the time. Once the windstorm is done, I'll go out and see if they are still standing. Sure enough, they are!

The idea is to create a fence for next year's sunflowers of different sizes. Also, having morning glories grow up them would be really interesting to try!

Doing gardens and planting flowers is so much fun for me and my daughter.

While thinking of this enchanting plant. Let's explore its meaning further and consider how to incorporate it into our meditation practices or grids.

Looking over my books. Sunflowers are an interesting guide to the sun, how it travels, and where the sun goes. It represents joy, positivity, and resilience (to wind! ha). Native Americans have used this beloved flower for thousands of years for food, medicine, oil, and dye.

The idea involves using petalas along the grid lines, connected with citrines, jasper, and clear quartz.

Later in the year, we will hang this flower upside down for the seasonal birds to enjoy!
